A Mathematical Model for Fame

In a series of papers we studied the relationship between what we refer to as merit (or achievements of individuals) and fame (or popularity the person enjoys) in society. We are the first to establish an exponential relationship between fame and merit, and the role of chance therein. As always, there has been considerable media coverage of my results in this area, including in The New ScientistScientific AmericanMIT Technology Review, and numerous online and print newspapers.
